Whether you are a first-time visitor to the auction scene or a seasoned antiques hunter, buying ought to be a fun and rewarding experience.
The online catalogue provides digital images, descriptions, measurements, price guide and a condition report enabling you to bid confidently.
We always recommend attending the preview if possible to experience the items you desire in person and ask further questions. Our specialists will give you a warm welcome.
Registration on arrival is necessary if you intend to bid (or even just thinking of doing so) after which you receive a paddle number and is free of charge. Allow plenty of time to register as photo ID will be required if you're new to us.
Lots are sold sequentially and the auctioneer gets through 80-120 per hour.
We provide Live Internet bidding for all our sales via the-saleroom.com and Invaluable.com Please note these are third parties and subject to charges: the-saleroom.com and Invaluable.com levy an additional 4.95% commission charge + VAT at the rate imposed on the hammer price.
Absentee or commission bids are useful if you cannot attend in person by leaving your maximum bid and the auctioneer will endeavour to buy the item as cheaply as possible.
For example, if your maximum bid is £100 and the last bid in the room is £60 then you win the item at the next increment of £65. Absentee bid forms are available during viewing and our staff are happy to assist.
Telephone bids can be arranged for lots with a minimum value / low estimate price of £200, subject to available lines.
Note: All absentee and telephone bidding requests must be registered to us 6pm the evening before each sale day.
Understand associated costs and charges:
